Double Duty Daddy

Sam has been doing a great job at fitting everything in to his busy life--working crazy hours at the office, keeping up with his responsibilities at church, and spending time with David each day. (In fact, if you ask me, I'd have to say that his multi-tasking skills have greatly improved.) Whenever given a choice between a household task or a diaper change, Daddy always chooses the latter. After all, the dishes don't smile and coo back at you while you're at the sink.

Our Chubby Bunny

David weighed in to his 2-month checkup this morning at a robust 13 lbs, 2.6 ounces. He is 23 3/4 inches long, putting him in the 90th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. His head is only in the 25-50 percentile range, so I had to post the following picture to reveal his true gooshy goodness. The shots into his squishy thighs made both of us cry--but he quickly turned back to his jovial self after a little cuddle. And a bottle helped.

Marshmallows not included.

Smiley Guy

We just can't get enough of his coos and smiles. We think David is very good at lifting his cheeks up, however heavy they look to the rest of us.

On a Scale of 1 to 10

David gets a TWO for staying awake during the cousins' photo shoot. After all, he did peek a time or two to see why his cousin was protesting the photo shoot so loudly. David found it the perfect opportunity to fit in a nap.

Cousin Fun

Earlier this month, David and I traveled to Utah so he could meet some of my family. He was a real hit! We enjoyed seeing Trevor and Amy and their kids, Matt and Monica with Oakley (thanks for driving up from AZ!) and Tanya and her kids from Idaho. It was also a special treat to for David to meet Grandma and Grandpa C, as well as my dear Grandma Ray.

There were 4 babies younger than 16 months when we were together--we were missing two others that live in Massachusetts and Arizona among this same age group. I have a feeling that it won't be long before we are chasing this group all around. Who will be the ringleader to help them find fun and adventure in a few years!?!

Spring Fever

The Romanians call it "The Sun with Teeth." The sun is brilliantly shining, but the temperaturers are still bouncing back and forth between 0 and 32 degrees. All in a 24hour period! Spring equinox means we have the most even distribution of daylight we will have all year, and somehow the spring fever creeps in. The stir crazy mode keeps me finding new projects (though not necessarily finishing).

So here I am, back to blogging. With lots to tell about our little man.

A Peek Into Heaven

Thanks to my sister, Tanya, and her talent in photography, we finally have portrait-style photos of David. And I was happy to kiss those rosy cheeks for a few poses as well. My heart is really as happy as I look. Being a mother is everything I have ever wanted it to be. Plus a little.
