Trip to Ohio--Part 4: The wedding

Last  year we attended Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kristina's wedding, so David had a hard time understanding what already happened versus what was about to happen. He kept mixing up the names of who was going to be married to whom, no matter how hard he tried to keep them straight. Then we walked into the church, and he saw the little flower girls in their white dresses. He was still trying to figure everything out, so he started asking "Who's getting baptized, Mom?"

We all sat down in the pews for the ceremony, and the procession began. The flower girls, then groomsmen and bridesmaids, then the groom, finally the bride walked down the aisle. Just as she reached her groom at the front of the church, David asked in a loud voice (we were sitting in row #2) "Are they getting baptized?" It was funny to a select few, but we sure got a chuckle out of it all. Just as I suspected, once David saw the ceremony, he straightened out the reason for the celebration (wedding) and who was marrying who (Uncle Hanson to Aunt Maggie).

 Meeting Baby Clara for the first time--she was only 2 1/2 weeks old.

 These adorable kids all belong to Nana and Pappy. It took 7 years for them to have 4 kids and 7 years to have 4 grandkids.

 David quickly latched on to sweet Evelyn. He insisted on holding her hand and led her all over the church's foyer. Eventually she came to me and said, "Aunt Carmin, David won't let go of my hand. Can you help me?" It was David's lesson in learning when she's done, we're all done.

 These two are second cousins, just a couple months apart. Bella lives in New Hampshire, close enough to visit Great Nana (Grandma Allen) on a regular basis. She came to the wedding with her grandparents, Uncle Peter and Aunt Sue, and her mom, Sam's cousin Katie. Stay tuned for another post about just what good buddies these two became by the end of the day.

 He went through a few bottles of bubbles while we waited.

 David was told that the bubbles were to blow at Uncle Hanson and Aunt Maggie when they came out. He followed these instructions to a T--and followed the happy couple all the way to their car with his bubble blowing skills.

 How cool is this--to have such an awesome car to ride off into the sunset?

Nick and Peggy's family has swelled from a family of six to a family of fourteen.

 It was hot and sweaty, but the kids were good troopers in spite of the heat.

 I've been wanting to capture this for a while--David is truly happy for other people's happiness. He is a very enthusiastic clapper, and absolutely delights to share his approval for someone else's success.

Uncle Hanson and Aunt Maggie, David is definitely happy for the start of your new life together.
